Ideas for home businesses are ten a penny. Common as dirt. They are all around you.
One way is to research online to find out what people need and are willing to buy - and that you can provide. There are many places to look for this information. Some of them include amazon.com (look in the magazines and newspapers section for popular topics, and look at the subjects the magazines cover; look at the bestseller lists for multiple product categories, not just books), ebay (the ebay Pulse section and the various "what's hot" and bestseller lists), Google Catalogs at catalogs.google.com (many, many product catalogs you can browse for unique products to sell), trendwatching.com to find out what's hot, trendy and upcoming.

Offline, in the real world, there are many sources too. Which topics are covered by multiple magazines in the bookstore or supermarket? How are the demographics changing in your local area, and what services may be in demand as a result? If your area has an economic development office of some kind, what do they say is going to be popular and needed soon?
You've probably noticed that everything I've written so far is about what other people need, not what you can do well or like to do. That's because you're more likely to succeed if you start with a hungry market that needs a product or service that you can supply, than if you pick an idea you'd like to do and only then look for a market for it.
Once you've found your hungry market, then you can go ahead and choose or create a business idea to tap into it that will meet your business goals for income and resources.
